Volunteer
It takes a village.
Every day, our team is here caring for the forgotten, the abandoned, and the overlooked—but none of this is possible without the support of our community.
It’s the neighbor who refuses to ignore a cat in need. It’s the person who has little to spare but still donates a bag of food. It’s the volunteer who gives a few hours of their time because they know every act of kindness matters.
Together, those small acts create a lasting impact.
At Spirit’s Place, there is a volunteer opportunity for every ability. Animals don’t care about your profession, your age, or your experience—they simply need compassionate people willing to help. If you’re dependable, caring, and community-minded, we’d love to have you join our volunteer team.

Shelter Care
More than 200 cats call Spirit’s Place home, and their daily care depends on dedicated volunteers. Typical responsibilities include:
- Feeding cats
- Scooping litter boxes
- Sweeping and vacuuming floors
- Washing dishes and litter pans
- Laundry
- Refreshing bedding and linens
- Monitoring each cat’s health and well-being
Beyond the Shelter
Not all volunteer opportunities happen inside our facility. Volunteers also play an essential role in our lifesaving programs by:
- Transporting cats to veterinary appointments, shelter partners, and colony caretakers
- Assisting with Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts by setting and monitoring humane traps and transporting cats for spay/neuter surgery
- Helping with data entry and recordkeeping
- Taking photographs of cats and our work
- Assisting with community outreach and special events

Whether you can volunteer every week or just occasionally, your time makes a meaningful difference in the lives of cats who have nowhere else to turn.
If you’d like to learn more about becoming a volunteer, please email spiritsplace1@gmail.com or complete our Volunteer Application. We’d love to welcome you to the Spirit’s Place team.
